We love Hayden Christensen on screen, so we were elated to find him again in this film Jumper. A story of a young boy learning that he has powers of teleportation. Of how he coped being the weird kid and he finally comes to grips with it.
He grew up to be a man "borrowing" things like money and some stuff so he can afford the lifestyle he is having. Having able to teleport means he can "break" in any places and just simply "go" to wherever he wants to go. As they say, good things don't last, so he comes to the reality that he isn't the only one with this wonderful gift and there are others who hunts them down to prevent them abusing these said power.
Inspite being hunted, he was still able to conjure a love relationship with his childhood crush and jetset with her to Europe. Involving her in the process to make up I guess a wonderful twist and challenge in the story.
Big name stars join in to support the film like Diane Lane playing his mother who abandoned him. Her being a part of the group that hunts jumpers like him. This will make a good sequel if you ask me. Then there's Samuel Mother Fucking L. Mother Fucking Jackson as the villain, the head of the Paladin that hunts these Mother Fucking jumpers. Michael Rooker plays his alcoholic Dad and we might see him also in another sequel.
Nobody died here so I guess I'll see everyone back if a sequel is done. I would love to have it but until now nothing is to be heard of it. Doug Liman, the director wouldn't like to have one and instead created a new TV series in Youtube.
We like the special effects here and truly the whole film is entertaining. Acting wise, they won't win any awards, but its enough for a good story telling.
