Synopsis
A retiring Secret Service agent's life gets complicated when a plot to kill the president was uncovered. An investigation ensues until he himself gets to be the suspect. In his efforts to clear his name, he he gets involved with those around him and creates a series of twists and turn that eventually him saving the president and clearing his name.
Our Review
Protecting the president is a favorite subject among hollywood films and this one is among the top choices in our books. With a star casting like this, Keifer Sutherland, Michael Douglas and Kim Basinger top bills his drama thriller, this film won't disappoint. Thrown in Eva Longoria to provide a sexy appeal, then this movie is a great addition to your friday marathon.
Michael Douglas is a great actor in all of his films. He has this certain charisma that he brings onscreen that we liked. Throw in Keifer in the mix, and with a great material or story, creates a well made movie. Although Keifer's acting is similar with most of hias action films, we can't help see him in hit series 24. The way he shouts is akin to his role as Jack Bauer. Being another government agent here, Keifer does a great job of being one.
Seeing Kim Basinger as the first lady is a stretch here but her onscreen persona of falling in love with Michael Douglas is a nice sub plot in the film. She truly sizzles in every scene here and its been a while seeing her on screen. Eva Longoria had to dress sexy to be recognized in the presence of Kim who really grabs us.
The plot to kill the president is not something new here, Russians as the bad guys, with your usual moles, make this film entertaining, a watchable film. Great addition to your movie marathon if action thriller is your thing.
