Plant me an idea - Inception (2010)

We got Leonardo DiCaprio on this movie and it will surely be a blast... again...  He plays "Dom Cobb" a professional thief who steals in your dreams.  He is the guy you go to when you want to steal corporate secrets, by going inside your subconscious and extract that needed information.

Movie starts off with Cobb "extracting" from their latest client, a japanese businessman in the name of Saito (played by Ken Watanabe).  He failed in his attempt to get information from Saito  but Cobb learned later that it was just an audition.  Saito wanted to hire Cobb to convince his competitor's son to dissolve his father's conglomerate.  Saito promises aside from money, he will use his power of influence to erase Cobb's criminal status so he can see his children in the United States.

For this Saito's request, Cobb needs to assemble a team as this was a bit tricky.  He got a top notch team and they mapped out an elaborate scheme to enter their targets subconscious.  It had to be an elaborate plan and it required a lot of levels for their plan to work.  Even with a great plan there are variables and the biggest stumbling block for Cobb was his ex-wife.  Although she died early on, her or rather his subconscious keeps the memory of her popping up in his dreams.  Adding to his already growing problems, his ex wife became a stumbling block that he learned to overcome in order for his team to succeed.

Eventually they succeeded and Saito was able to help Cobb enter the United States and see his children.

If you noticed we made the plot description short.  The film might have been 10 years as of this writing, but we know for a fact, that if you haven't watched this one, you won't like spoilers coming from us.

Why would you watch this? or why would you watch this again?  Simply the movie is soooooo gooooood..  Story line is original, story telling done right, performances by the actors herein were exemplary, if you think going into one's subconscious is boring, in your dreams esse....

Starting off with the cast, we have Leonardio DiCaprio leading an awesome cast of Joseph Gordon Levitt, Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy, Tom Berenger, Marion Cottilard, and Michael Caine.  Other notables were Dileep Rao, pete Postlewaite and Lukas Haas.

All of them actors truly delivered and did not leave us wanting.  Kudos to Christopher Nolan for guiding them wonderfully in the roles and for the great story telling prowess on his part.  Each scene was masterfully created to form part of a bigger picture as we went along the movie.  The plot was fresh and original so we don't know what to expect this helped a lot in keeping our interest in check.  The twists, oh we were surprised at every turn and it didn't disappoint.  The only thing we were kept hanging was the last scene.  It got us thinking, was everything we watched was a dream?  Will there be a sequel to this wonderfully crafted movie?

Watch this movie for 1) the original story 2) the actors 3) great production and 4) great storytelling.

For you curious enough to want to watch this, you are in luck as Inception is currently being streamed in Netflix.
