Office Christmas Party (2016) On

What you see is what you get.  What to expect about an Office Christmas party?  Its just all fun I hope and this film does so with blatant disregard.  A super fun movie indeed if you ask this writer.  Its full of laughs you can't imagine.  Don't expect a great story line here, but in the spirit of Christmas, this movie gives the holiday cheer to the max.

The main credit for fun is the cast.  They brought their A game here.  A cast of comedians in one film will surely bring the house down.

We liked T.J. Miller the most here as the bumbling but lovable boss.  He truly pushed the movie to its greatness.  He merely acts like himself and we love the way he does it in this film.  He is the most loved boss in the entire United States, as he like to compensate his employees and lets them to have fun while working.  He is not the main lead here but after watching the film, I thought that he should be.

Next up we like Jason Bateman as Josh Parker. His character is the operations of the company.  He is the brains if you may call him, ever loyal to TJ Miller's character Clay Vanstone, he is the serious one here. Although his character is such, being a natural comedian, he dishes out his type of humor to the best here.  He is the lead here would you believe that?  He should be if we are talking about a romantic comedy film which this film tries to squeeze in.  He is paired with Olivia Munn (Tracey Hughes) a very unlikely character.   Can you imagine a super hot super brainey geeky computer freak who can provide internet to the whole city even when phone and fiber optic lines are down, and sexy, dont forget sexy computer programmer?  Good thing this film is outright goofy or else I wouldn't believe Olivia Munn's character is such that.  She is brainy I know but her character in real life?  Let me file my application with that company and let me start working there.

Olivia Munn as Jason Bateman's love interest, or employee-supervisor love interest is a something of a good thing in a senseless film of fun and mayhem.  They added romance to this movie hoping,  I don't know what they were trying to accomplish here with the love angle.  There is a rich senseless story line of an office party gone terribly wrong (which is good in this case), add a rich sibling rivalry between TJ Miller's character and Jennifter Aniston (as Carol Vanstone).  That alone should suffice.  The love angle can be deleted if you ask us.  Besides, I can't see a love connection or chemistry between Bateman and Munn.

Jennifer Aniston is really a wonderful actor.  Her role as a bitchy but loving sister can be felt all throughout this movie.  Although I noticed that she rarely changed her hairstyle in most of the films shes in, but somehow by sheer genius, she managed to pull off the character convincingly, always.

Another character that we liked is Rob Corddry as his usual self, with antics that say, I'm Rob Corddry.  His acting is similar to when he played that cooky government agent in Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (2008) where he shined.  He is just a support here in  this movie.

Kate McKinnon as Mary, the uptight Human Resources who's a stickler for office rules is a great prude here in the film.  She was great in his role, and we love her here.

Jillian Bell is a great actor, as as the Escort provider, Trina, she is truly annoying in this.  The film is outright fun and deviates from the normal in terms of characterization but somehow there's a limit for my taste of acceptance.  Her performance was really way way off for me here.

In the end, if you want a film that's super funny, witty and slapstick type of comedy, then this film is it.  It won't win any awards, so don't look for it being realistic, its just a movie that will truly entertain you nothing else.
