We have another Jet Li classic for you to watch, its called "The One". Megged way back 2001, Jet Li still looks young and fast on his feet. So this action flick makes use of martial arts skills times 2. Imagine Jet Li X 2.
The movie starts off with Jet Li, killing another Jet Li. Jet Li then gets captured and brought back in an inter-dimensional police station where we found out that he had killed the other Jet Li's in the Multiverse. He was then sentenced to life imprisonment to a god forsaken planet. With help from another, he gets to get out of the scene and escapes to our dimension, the second to the last of the Jet Li's who are alive.
They say that the remaining Jet Lis will inherit the power of the dead ones so both of them possess extra ordinary strength and agility. In the pursuit of the bad Jet Li killing the last remaining himself, a multiverse police officer is out to get him played by then unknown or maybe rising star, Jason Statham.
In the process, the good Jet Li's life gets entangled in a lot of shit because of the bad Jet Li and that it gets confusing at times which is which. In the end, Jason's role proved to be instrumental to bring the bad Jet Li to justice and bring the life back of the good Jet Li.
The bad Jet Li wants to kill all of him across the multiverse thus wants to be "the One". As narrated in the film, they won't know what would happen to the multiverse if he gets to be "the One". We didn't get to that since we had the two Jet Li's alive and kicking literally in the end.
The movie is confusing with Jet Li in all of them scenes, yet we liked the story line though. A very original during its time and a risky thing to do in film making. Jason Statham shows some martial arts moves here that we got a preview prior to him being a rockstar. Carla Gugino was here and she was just a rising star then.
A watchable film, if you want to watch Jet Li in action, then go choose this. Its rare to seldom a Jet Li times two in a film.
